About Us

Beginning at an early age the desire to modify engines to make more power and speed consumed me. I learned from people that had experience building fast cars, boats, bikes etc. I also gleaned information from manuals and magazines on how to make things go faster and perform better. I believe being a third-generation garage and machine shop owner was immensely helpful.
Building my first flow bench at 18 years of age helped me to better understand air flow in and out of an engine. Engine dynos were still out of reach at the time. In the mid-80's I opened a small shop as a side gig, building engines ranging from cycles to V8's. I was also involved in auto and cycle racing at the time. As the 80's and 90's continued I ventured into other avenues of machine and fabrication. Spending a few years working in a cycle and ATV shop helped expand my abilities and understanding of air-cooled engines.
I never lost the desire to build engines - race cars, hot rods, or cycles. As the dawn of the 21st century came I decided it was time to embark on my lifelong dream to have my own shop. This was the beginning of Rocket Engineering Speed Shop. In a quest to make a name and income I would take on almost any job that came through the door and this in turn increased my knowledge and experience. From a simple single cylinder Kohler pulling engine to complete rebuilding of a Lamborghini engine. I was willing to take on the challenges and by obtaining two Stuska engine dynos this not only increased my capabilities but provided more opportunities to build hot rods, drag, circle track, road race, nostalgia, and cycle.
After being in business for 16 years, in 2017 the decision to relocate to Arizona was made. A lot would need to be accomplished to get things up and running again. So here we are in 2024 in a new location and ready for your business. I am willing to offer quality and personal attention to those who demand it.
